M25 MOTORWAY(JUNCTION 18) TEMPORARYTRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

Notice is hereby given that Highways England Company Limited intends to make an Order on the M25 Motorway in the County of Hertfordshire, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works areproposed to be executed on an adjoining road.

The effect of the Order would be to authorise the overnight closureofthe slip roads leading to and from the anti-clockwise carriageway of the M25 at Junction 18 (A404). This measurewould be in the interests of road safety while contractors working on behalf of HertfordshireCounty Council undertake highway maintenance works on the adjoining A404 local road, which will be closed to traffic. It is expected that the work would occur in two phases, between 17th June 2019 and 8th July 2019, and then between 2nd and 25th September 2019. The overnight closures would take place between 22:00 and 05:00 (maximum period). The Order would come into force on 15 June 2019 and have amaximum duration of eighteen months.

Traffic affected by the closureofthe offslip would be diverted anti-clockwise on the M25 to Junction 17(A405) and then follow local diversion signage on the A405 and A412. The on-slip will not be accessible when the A404 is closed.

The temporary closures and diversion routes would be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they areinoperation during the works period.
